You are defined by your connection by sky, and the horrors that live beyond. Perhaps an astronomer to look too closely, a pirate of the astral sea, or a peasant who escaped refraction. Whatever the case, the stars and sun have unmade and refashioned you in their image. 


Skill Proficiencies: Survival, Perception. 

Languages: Deep Speech and one of your choice. 

Equipment: a mirror, a small telescope or almanac, a shard of sky shard worth 10 GP, common clothes, and a pouch containing 15 gold. 

Features: Meetle of the Stars. You begin with the Crystalline Solemnity rule. In addition, you have advantage on any history or arcana checks to recall information about any skybound creatures or the astral plane.

Once, they called it the greatest city in the world. Now, it is a festering abomination, a ragged backwater on the edge of an endless maze of warrens and ruins, each corner crawling with the dead and undead. Once, you called this place home, now, it is anything but. Still, the city has touched you, its memories, its horrors, they are yours now. 


Skill Proficiencies: Insight, History 

Languages: Any two of your choice. 

Equipment: An ancient Alvornian relic, a map of the city marked with a location of great interest, common clothes and a pouch containing 10 GP. 

Features: It’s memories… You always know which direction Alvorn stands. 

...it’s horrors… You are immune to the frightened condition.  

… They are yours now. You have advantage on Insight and History checks when dealing with Alvorn, or a creature from Alvorn.

Equipment: A small knife, a pamphlet promoting Rek, common clothes and 10GP. 

Features: Never. Again. You have advantage on insight checks.

At some point in your family tree, you crossed paths, or blades, with a member of the Arcanaborn family. You are bonded to them now, blessed in life and death with a fraction of their power and training. And the onus to obey their every whim. 


Skill Proficiencies: Arcana, History 

Languages: Any two of your choice. 

Equipment: A minor magical trinket, a set of mage’s robes, and a set of residuum worth 5 gold. 10GP.

Arcanaborn: You gain one additional spell slot at second level. This spell slot is equal to your proficiency modifier. Once you use this spell slot, you cannot reuse it until seven days later. 

Servant of Magic: Your patron will occasionally ask you for a favor, which you must fulfill. Or else.

An inductee who never made it past the gates. A turncoat soldier. The last man standing, driven mad by the path. All of these are fallen angels, Soul Wardens who have broken their oaths in some form or fashion, and have been stripped of their power. Whether redemption or revenge, the path is yours to find and follow. 


Skill Proficiencies: Survival, Athletics 

Languages: Celestial and Abyssal 

Equipment: A set of broken armor or a broken weapon, stripped of its enchantment. An empty Warden-bond book, burned or otherwise made useless, Hermit’s clothes, 15GP 

Fallen Warden: You are one of the few who still know. You know the location and passages of old Soul-Warden bases and rituals.
